Job Description

Barnabas Robotics is an educational start-up with a mission to encourage innovation and build community through robotics. We serve educators, parents, and youth by teaching robotics classes and developing open-source curriculum and robotics kits to make S.T.E.M. education affordable and approachable to everyone.  We are looking for a passionate candidate to join our growing teaching team!  The candidate will work closely with our staff to bring our robotics programs into local elementary and middle schools and homeschool learning sites.  Robotics instructors are responsible for teaching our robotics curriculum to elementary and middle school-aged students (training will be provided).  Class sizes range from 4-25 students.  Robotics instructors also work alongside Barnabas Robotics’ engineering and instructional teams to develop new curriculum and teacher-training content.

 

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching elementary or middle school-aged students.
• Passion for youth and education.
• Ability to learn and teach S.T.E.M. concepts (training will be provided).
• Strong administrative and communication skills.
• Close attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year university.

 

Time Commitment

Part-time: 10-15 hours per week (to start)

 

Location

Local travel within Greater Los Angeles (to classroom sites) required.

Team meetings & trainings held at Barnabas Robotics Headquarters in Pasadena, CA

 

Compensation
Starting at $20/hour
